What We Compare

One Review, Every Option On The Table

Whether it is power, gas, or both, we check commercial electricity rates across the whole market rather than working from a single supplier list - giving you a genuine business electricity comparison, not just one quote.

Electricity

Business Electricity

A whole-of-market comparison on your current contract - we look at the price per kilowatt hour you’re paying now and benchmark it against current small business electricity pricing across the market.

Gas

Business Gas

We check commercial gas rates across UK suppliers - including the cheapest business gas rates for UK care homes and other regulated sectors - and flag your renewal date so you don’t slip onto a pricier out-of-contract rate.

What Drives the Cost (There Is No Fixed Price)

Every genuine source on this agrees: there is no standard UK price for moving a commercial gas meter, because the job depends entirely on your specific site. What does consistently affect the cost is set out below - use it to understand a quote rather than to estimate one yourself.

Distance moved

A short move within the same wall is a different job to relocating the meter across the building or outdoors.

Internal vs external

Moving a meter from inside to an external box generally involves more work than an internal-only relocation.

Pipework complexity

New pipe runs, digging, or structural changes add cost on top of the meter move itself.

Making good & labour

Plastering, decorating and brickwork after the work, plus the labour for the move itself, are separate cost lines to budget for.

What Information We Need

To give you the most useful review, it helps if you can provide:

  • Your business name and postcode
  • A contact name, phone number and business email
  • Whether you need electricity, gas, or both
  • Your current supplier and contract end date, if known
  • An approximate idea of your energy spend or usage

Don't have everything to hand? That's fine - fill in what you can and a specialist can help with the rest.

Commercial Gas Meter Relocation - Frequently Asked Questions

Several parties can be involved: your energy supplier (your first point of contact, who assesses the request and may set its own relocation charge), your local Gas Network Operator / gas transporter (e.g. Cadent, SGN or Northern Gas Networks - involved for larger moves or anything routing from inside to outside), the appointed meter asset manager (the only party legally permitted to work on the meter itself), and a Gas Safe registered engineer for any internal pipework changes.
